Sheila Bailey, RDN (Registered Dietitian and Nutritionist) has been in the field for over 15 years helping many people and companies learn to live a better lifestyle, by working in consumer affairs, public relations, marketing, product development or consulting with chefs in restaurants and culinary schools. RDNs may provide services to foodservice or restaurant managers, food vendors, grocery store tours, and distributors, athletes, nursing home residents or company employees. Sheila has undergone specialized training in particular areas like sports nutrition, diabetes education, or pediatric nutrition, with a focus on weight management or chronic disease prevention.
WHAT A Dietitian does: Dietitians study a variety of subjects, ranging from food and nutrition sciences, foodservice systems management, business, economics, computer science, culinary arts, sociology and communication to science courses such as biochemistry, physiology, microbiology, anatomy and chemistry. Dietitians are the only qualified health professionals that assess, diagnose and treat dietary and nutritional problems at an individual and wider public-health level. They work with both healthy and sick people.
Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (RDNs) are food and nutrition experts who have met the following criteria to earn the RDN credential:
- Completed a minimum of a bachelor’s
degree at a US
regionally accredited university or college and course work accredited or
approved by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and
Dietetics (ACEND) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
- Passed a national examination administered by the Commission on
Dietetic Registration (CDR). For more information regarding the
examination, refer to CDR’s website at www.cdrnet.org.
- Completed continuing professional
educational requirements to maintain registration.

What should I expect from a “Nutritional Consult”?
During the nutritional consult we will discuss your personal health and fitness history and goals, the objectives and what the benefits of working with wearefit LLC. We will review your medical history with you, including any medications (from a dietary standpoint) and dietary supplements you’re currently taking, as well as your current eating habits and patterns. We will assess your body composition and perform waist measurements. Then we will discuss, in-depth, your lifestyle to get a sense of your stress levels, energy levels, exercise, and digestive functions.
You will be required to complete an on-line food log for one day, prior to the consult, to help evaluate your meal preparation and cooking habits, and identify, modify and /or correct problem areas. With this assessment we will discover how your current habits are impacting your health, while discovering better ways and practices to improve your health.
At the completion of the nutritional consult wearefit LLC will recommend the best course of action and the time frame to reach your goals as well as provide you with 5 days of on-line personalized menus. For you convenience, online messaging and email is available in our portal 24 hours a day 7 days a week with a response time of 24 hours or less. The portal is also HIPPA compliant and secured.
